This anime is another anime filled with cute girls, just to take away from the fact that the main male leads have the hots for each other. Why would Shinoa like an out of control peasant turned soldier that is constantly putting her team in danger. Her whole character is about battling strategically and keeping everyone in line so that they all survive. The show is dedicated to star-crossed lovers tragically separated by a tragedy that occurred when they were orphaned children. I don’t understand the stigma of just turning the anime into a yaoi- it pretty much already is except they’ll probably pull a Naruto and force relationships that never,or shouldn’t, exist. I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who wasted their time watching til the end of the second season and wasn’t bothered to read the manga, so don’t quote me on what happens in manga. The anime ruined any likelihood that the manga would be interesting to read. Don’t get me wrong the fights were amazing to watch, I’d just appreciate it more if they gave some sword play ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It seems like I’m an obsessed yaoi fan, which I can be, but I’m not when it comes to this. I understand when they have an audience they need to feed but they completely drown out other demographics of their audience. It begs the question who they made the anime for. When I’m sure there are enough neutral fans to not get offended by yaoi when then action is there to back it up.
It was not necessary to make Yuu hopelessly in love with Mika if all they needed between them was a bond of brothers. Here’s another plot that could have worked Yuu works well with everyone, doesn’t lose his pants when Mika’s name is mentioned and with the compassion of his battle mates awarded by him he being a great soldier they help him save Mika. Then wow after he earns Shiona’s respect properly, instead of the writers forcing them together because she’s the first cute girl he meets after his orphan sisters, she realizes this is a guy that I might find attractive. He can still be a demon fighting to keep his sanity that’s an excellent plot point that adds brilliantly to the show.
I like when the characters fight with themselves, it leaves space for future development so they can be rounded. It’s even better that they give the demon a character of it’s own- I just realized I explained Ichigo’s hollow form who was also trapped in sword; no coincidence there.
Lots of animes have story lines that cross even though that was really specific, but you can also say Yuu’s demon is not a vision of himself so we can leave it there. Even if there was a third season, I wouldn’t be interested in watching it. The story would just be another season of fans waiting for Mika to suck Yuu’s blood while characters who could’ve added to the story die. If you have anything to add, do add it or if you disagree tell me why it’s much appreaciated.
P.S I will say though that this anime has great posters.Tags: action, drama, manga madness, shounen ai, syfy
